Coopersburg, PA (February 28, 2022) – Today, Lutron Electronics , the trusted leader in lighting control and automated shading solutions, is introducing new Serena Smart Architectural Honeycomb Shades. As more people than ever are working from home and using their living spaces in new ways, they are relying more on smart home devices to help make life more inspired, pleasant, and convenient. New Serena by Lutron smart architectural honeycomb shades are perfect for those looking to effortlessly create a more comfortable environment customized to reflect their own personal style. These new shades are built using the same ultra-reliable smart shading technology as the rest of the Serena shade line, while offering significant enhancements in both décor sophistication and light blocking performance.

Form Meets Function with All New Design
Architectural Honeycomb ShadesThanks to a modern and thoughtful design aesthetic from top to bottom, these shades can be customized to complement the décor of the home whether it be contemporary, traditional or anything in between. The all-new top- and bottom-bars are crafted from the same material and custom painted for a clean, coordinated look. These new Serena smart shades are offered in a beautiful range of over 40 blackout and light-filtering fabric options, with collections inspired by cities from around the world, like Aspen, Madrid, and Kyoto. All of the new fabrics come in the popular 3/4 inch cell size that gives an updated look to the classic honeycomb style. These new shades are custom-made in widths up to 96 inches and as tall as 104 inches.

State-of-the-Art Light Blocking Performance Just Got Better
State-of-the-Art Light Blocking Performance Just Got Better This new line builds on Serena smart shades’ existing state-of-the-art light blocking and makes it better. Like all Serena smart shades, this new line of shades moves in near perfect unison, year after year, and can be controlled effortlessly with an app, voice assistant or smart remote. These shades can be scheduled to open and close at specific times or for a time interval relative to sunrise & sunset; schedules automatically adjust as the seasons change. In addition to this state-of-the art light blocking technology, new Serena smart architectural honeycomb shades prevent “light creep”, the pain point many customers experience when light peeks through the space above the shade in inside mount applications. The mounting bracket has been totally redesigned to be fully integrated with the headrail of the shade, thus preventing light from spilling over. The mounting bracket has even been upgraded to aluminum to prevent warping due to direct sunlight and heat over time. And these new honeycomb shades have a minimal “light gap” between the shade edge and window casing of about 1/8 inch per side with an inside mount installation.

The Most Connected Smart Shades
Serena smart architectural honeycomb shades work seamlessly with all the major smart home brands on the market including Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, the Google Assistant, Caséta by Lutron smart lighting controls and many more. In fact, Serena smart shades connect with more smart home brands than any other smart shade.
