Traditional Drapery Track Systems

Lutron drapery track systems provide a wide range of options to suit the needs of any application. Our systems allow for tracks up to 30 ft long, single or multi-bend curved tracks, manual-open override, track splicing, 90° curves, and much more.

Pleat Styles

Pinch Pleat

Pinch pleat style is named for the pleated look created by pinched gatherings of the fabric at the top of the drapery. Pins on the back of the drapery are simply looped through the carriers on the track when installed. For the best system performance, a drapery hook setting of ½ in. from the top of the drapery should be used.

Ripplefold

Ripplefold style is named for the soft, consistent ripples created by the drapery as it hangs from the track. The drapery is constructed with Graber snap tape that allows it to be snapped directly to the carriers on the track. Fullness of the drapery is determined by the spacing of the carriers in the track. Lutron ripplefold tracks are available in 3 fullness factors: 80%, 100% and 120%.

Track Options

Straight Track

The straight track system is available in the following configurations:
  • Single or dual track
  • Right draw, left draw, center draw, and tandem systems (center draw)
  • Standard single track with lengths up to 18 ft; up to 30 ft spliced; up to 60 ft for spliced, tandem systems

Curved Track

Curved tracks are available in a standard arc or by custom specifications.
  • All Lutron drapery drives will accommodate a single curve or bend; D145 or D175 drives are required for tracks with double curves or bends
  • Standard arc: 90° bend with 20 in. (0.5 m) radius
  • Custom: up to 90° bends are possible; curved radius must be 20 in. (0.5 m) or greater
  • Center draw and single draw versions are available

Draw Styles

The draw style of your drapery is the direction in which the draperies open. The draw style determines where the stack back of the drapery will lay. Consider your application carefully when selecting a draw style.

Right Draw

The drive is located on the right-hand side, and the carrier opens drapery from the left toward the right. (Drive remains hidden behind the stack back.)

Left Draw

The drive is located on the left-hand side, and the carrier opens drapery from the right toward the left. (Drive remains hidden behind the stack back.)

Center Draw

One drive uses two carriers to open the draperies from the center to the left and right simultaneously. (Drive can be located on the left or right, right side shown, while remaining hidden behind the stack back.)

Tandem System

Tandem systems use 2 tracks, thereby having a drive unit at each end. This allows for longer, center draw systems (over 30 ft), or for center draw systems to operate heavier drapes. The accuracy of movement and speed control of Lutron drapery track drives allow 2 independent systems to work in unison for elegant, smooth movement. Spliced, tandem systems have a maximum 60 ft length.

Track Splicing

Track Splicing is a convenient option for the shipment and installation of long drapery tracks. It allows for a drapery track to be shipped in 2 or 3 equal sections, and easily connected at the job site. This allows for:
  • Longer standard track lengths of up to 30 ft
  • Shorter packaging and easier transportation of tracks to and on the job site

Manual Open Feature

The drapery track system is available with a manual open carrier for drapery fabric panels weighing up to 70 lbs. When manual force is applied to the drapery the master carrier releases, allowing the drapery to open.

The Lutron patented spring release system is field-adjustable to customize force necessary to manually open drapery. The benefits of this option include:
  • Open draperies during a power loss
  • Prevent damage to the system if a user attempts to pull open the drapery, not realizing that the track is motorized
